My communities

ResearchOps

This is a global group of people that comes together in a Slack community to discuss the operations and operationalization of user research and design research. ResearchOps includes the people, mechanisms, and strategies that set research in motion. I keep track of tools used for gathering observations and synthesizing insights. Other learnings from this community include notions on personal data management, participant consent and creating buy-in for research.

Field studies

After joining a masterclass in field study fundamentals by Jan Chipchase, I joined the Slack community to stay up to date on ethnographic research practices. While ethnographic data, quantitative data, and analytics provide insights into what people do and how only well run ethnographic research can reveal why people behave as they do. Understanding why is fundamental to have an impact on product, design, brand, strategy, policy and communications.

Logo that reads d.MBA for Business design for designers training

Business design

I followed the d.mba course on business design for designers in the autumn of 2021. After graduation, I joined the d.MBA alumni where networking and learning continues. In this private Slack group, there are local meetups, monthly calls with mentors, special guests (e.g. Katie Dill, VP of Design at Lyft), there’s sharing of interesting resources, work challenges, and career opportunities.
